Hi all,

i have a spider box 5000sd and a s*y dish. I think i have the up to date patch and softcam loaded on to it but i can only pick up FTA channels. I have now read that the only way to pick up s*y channels is to card share but i dont know much about this.

I am a starview person but just moved house and no cable there.

Any help or advise would be much appreciated
:D

Hi there firstly we don’t mind you putting sky instead of s*y

The spiderbox sd 5000 will only receive the fta channels on 28e, and yes the only ways to open sky is to either get an official subscription, or indeed via card sharing .

The main problem you have is your spiderbox is only capable of acting as a server in newcamd format you can only share what is in your card slot :(
this is a problem as you do not have a card to share ...

take a look round the board its not all doom and gloom, you still have your gift channels to watch, but to be able to c/s successfully you will need a Linux based sat-box that will/can operate as a cccam server and of course some form of smart card/subscription to share..
cheap sub cards are available such as porn xxx cards however not suitable if children are about ;)

your other option is to make a Linux ( debian ) server and hope someone will give you a cline to share in the exchange free section,

sorry to say but you don’t get something for nothing nowadays
