Hello all, I'm thinking of getting a Vu+ Duo and need some help, I've found a lot out on here about images and ccam, I have a few questions I need answers to before I buy. I'd appreciate any help you can give.
1. I have downloaded DreamEliteBH_VUDUO_133D_USB.zip is this the best image to use at the moment?
2. Will regards the C Line on Ccam, is this something available for free on the internet or should I be looking at the cardshare paid for servers?
3. Can anyone recommend a reliable server if I have to pay?
4. The VU Duo is £330 at my local sat shop, is that a good price? Can anyone recommend a supplier?
Thanks in advance for any help given.

Welcome to the site m8, we hope you enjoy your stay at CCcam Exchange
1. I have downloaded DreamEliteBH_VUDUO_133D_USB.zip is this the best image to use at the moment?
IMHO,... NO, Their servers are up, then there down then there closed for good, open and then down again
2. Will regards the C Line on Ccam, is this something available for free on the internet or should I be looking at the cardshare paid for servers?
There is people who would be willing to give you a free share, Have a look in the free exchange section. You should never use a commercial server. They are generally frowned upon within the CS world and a lot of sites will ban you for even mentioning payservers.
3. Can anyone recommend a reliable server if I have to pay?
NO
4. The VU Duo is £330 at my local sat shop, is that a good price? Can anyone recommend a supplier?
Yeah that is a good price for a VU+ Duo tbh m8. Its a cracking box tbh. However if it is your first box a clone dm500 would be a cheaper alternative to get started with
Thanks in advance for any help given.
No Probs
we dont use payservers here m8 its a SHARING forum you share with someone they share with u every1 wins that way,the price of the duo sounds good m8

Thanks for the quick reply, I'm a little confused about answer to q1 I thought the image was just firmware didn't think servers came into it, are the servers you refer to for downloading adding etc? Can you recommend an image for vu duo?
Looked at dm800hd will the one you recommended do hd?
Vix or open pli are good for the duo m8,a server is what you would set up so u can share with others, plenty of tut's and guides around the forum m8 have a read around and if you get stuff just post in teh relevant section
yeah m8, there is a lot of things you can download through the box itself,.. plugins, cccam etc. if the servers are down it a manual install meaning manual download to pc, then transfering to box before installing etc.... In saying that though, a lot of images dont come with the option to download cccam through the box anymore. I like the blackhole image viewtopic.php?f=197&t=3437 (http://cccam-exchange.biz/viewtopic.php?f=197&t=3437)
No the dm500 is SD only m8. We have clone dm800`s in our shop which are HD, There a cracking box with the latest rev M tuner for £180 with next day delivery within the UK http://www.cccam-exchange.com/ppshop.php
The VU+ Duo has twin tuners wheras the dm800 is single tuner

thanks m8, comopletely new to this as you can see, im all on for sharing just didnt know that is what people did. searched for cardsharing and came accross loads of paysites. Guy in sat shop was not very helpful on the subject, he wouldn't comment on anything about it. So i started the search on the net, paysites seemed to be the common thing on the search results.
What would I be able to share with others if i had a server?

would my machine just be acting as a another node in the network of servers? so the sharing is in providing the code to others? is it a bit like torrents?
A subscription card to a satellite broadcaster in return for a share to his ;)
Have a read at this m8 viewtopic.php?f=26&t=345 (http://cccam-exchange.biz/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=345)

Gingerninga,
First off welcome to the site.
I was in a similar position to you a few months ago and it can seem a bit daunting at first but with a little bit of reading and a few questions you will be up and running in no time.
Having trailed most if not all the sites on the net, I found this one to be the most helpful and no question was ever too silly to ask. The attitude is a refreshing "We all have to start somewhere" unlike some other pompous sites I came across.
I've yet to find any question or issue that has not been covered on here either via the excellent Guides or by the advice given.
As for boxes it's a matter of choice and of cost. I notice above that Jaxo mentions the DM500s. This is how I started out and learnt the ropes and it would also be the way I would recommend initially. Although only an SD box, you can get them for about £50. Once your happy tinkering and want to move to the more expensive HD boxes you can either sell your 500s or like I have, use it as a client box in the bedroom. The 500s is cheap and cheerfull and is very good with loads of support and images available so is really the ideal tool for training. You could of course say sod it and spend a lot more and get a DM800 or VU Duo,the choice is yours. Either way you can't go wrong.
I currently have a DM800HD and they are a very good box. After learning on the DM500s they are a breeze to setup with excellent HD picture. The new 800 with rev M tuner runs very well.
As for Payservers ..STAY CLEAR.
A mate of mind joined one and the service was appalling. Loads of horror stories on various sites about them. Bear in mind they only want to make money and as a result have way too many clients resulting in freezing and glitching all the time. You'll also find little or no support unlike on here. Why pay for something when with a little time and effort you can get it for free and learn a bit as well.
I can't comment on the VU Duo but it does get very good reports and if I was looking for a new box,it would be right up there. Just got to be able to justify another box to the missus.
Regards
Nwf
